The first trailer for Sam Mendes’ upcoming World War I film titled 1917 has released. This film marks the post-project project Sam Mendes 007 franchise after Skyfall in 2012 and Specter in 2015. Although little has been revealed about the 1917 movie since it announced, the only detail about the film is only to describe it as a WWII pilot film in 1917.
The 1917 screenplay was written by Krysty Wilson-Cairns, who had started the career of the writer of the Showtime series Penny Dreadful. Sam Mendes, on the other hand, received an Academy Award for Best Director in 2000 for American Beauty and has a list of 007 films.
He is best known for films such as Revolutionary Road with Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio and Road to Perdition with Tom Hanks and Paul Newman. Now, this 1917 film will star Richard Madden, Colin Firth, Benedict Cumberbatch, Mark Strong, Andrew Scott, George MacKay, and Dean-Charles Chaplin.
The first trailer in 1917 highlighted a complicated plot in which two British soldiers (MacKay and Chapman) had to deliver an important message to prevent the deaths of nearly 1,600 other British soldiers. To do this, they are not only forced to pass through enemy territory, but it is difficult given a little time to do it. The 1917 film rumoured to air at the end of December 2019.
Synopsis
Two young British soldiers during the First World War returned an impossible mission. They were assigned to deliver messages, deep in enemy territory, to stop the troops, as well as Blake’s brother not too exposed in deadly enemy traps.
