A comedy-drama that features an 80s background, Blinded by The Light, has been confirmed to be released. Blinded by The Light itself is reportedly inspired by Bruce Springsteen’s song.
This film tells the story of a teenage boy named Javed (Viveik Kalra) with all the twists and turns of his life. He is of English-Pakistani descent who lived in the 1980s. Javed has a father named Malik (Kulvinder Ghir). His father insisted that Javed be a lawyer or doctor, and this made the boy feel tortured and trapped by his father’s overly compelling desire.
In fact, the boy is very talented in the field of writing. At one time, he finally listened to Springsteen songs that made him inspired to reach his ideals.
Blinded by The Light is a film directed by Gurinder Chadha. He is known to have directed a number of films. You name it, What’s Cooking? (2000), Bend It Like Beckham (2002), Bride and Prejudice (2004), Paris Je’ime (2006), Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging (2008), It’s a Wonderful Afterlife (2010), and Viceroy’s House (2017).
Meanwhile, Chadha was assisted by three writers in helping with the writing of the manuscript. They are Paul Mayeda Berges, Sarfraz Manzoor, and Bruce Springsteen. Paul himself is the husband of Chadha, who has contributed to almost all Chadha films.
