Crawl is a tense disaster-themed film directed by Alexandre Aja and written by Michael and Shawn Rasmussen. Starring Rich Scodelario and Barry Pepper as daughters and fathers who were trapped in their homes during a Category 5 storm and hunted by bloodthirsty predator crocodiles.

The film was originally announced on May 2018, with Sam Raimi as the producer through Ghost House Pictures, and Aja was appointed a director. Scodelario and Pepper joined the players on July 2018, with other players joining that summer. The film was released in the United States on July 12, 2019, by Paramount Pictures.

When a terrible Category 5 storm hits the city of Florida, Haley Keller (Rich Scodelario) opposes the city evacuation order to find Dave’s father (Barry Pepper). He found it in the basement while crawling under their family’s home in Coral Lake. The father and daughter realized that due to the storm, many wild predators had escaped to the city. With absolutely no rescue mission, impossible escape, and rising water, Haley and Dave had to escape the coveted wild crocodile after a raging storm.

The theme of horror has been one of the few things that succeeded this summer. Annabelle Comes Home has done quite well, Midsommar received a warm welcome and even Child’s Play remake surprised many critics. But Crawl seems to be on another level.

Journalist Perri Nemiroff from Collider said this. “#CrawlMovie is a badass, a wild summer sensation! I’m a fairly quiet movie observer but my curse goes out here. Forget the edge of your seat – several times I have to stop myself from jumping out of it. You have to watch this one on the big screen.”
