The film was directed by Daniel Espinosa with a screenplay written by Rhett Reese with Paul Wernick. The plot in the film Life was inspired by the film ‘Alien’ (1979) directed by Ridley Scott, who has become one of the most popular alien films.
The story is not much different, which is about a group of scientists who met with aliens in space. Produced under the auspices of Studio Skydance Films, Life gets 68 per cent of the reviews from the Rotten Tomatoes website.
Synopsis
Six astronauts were chosen to be placed on the space station. They consist of David Jordan (Jake Gyllenhaal), Miranda North (Rebecca Ferguson), Rory Adams (Ryan Reynolds), Sho Kendo, Hugh Derry and Katerina Golovkin. The astronauts were enthusiastic when their explorer capsule found signs of life on Mars. Plus they discovered a single-celled foreign organism that was finally taken and revived into research material. They call it Calvin who turns out to grow fast and has a high level of intelligence.
In a short time, Calvin turns into a predator who can prey on anyone he meets. The lives of the astronauts were threatened. Not only the lives of the astronauts, even if Calvin managed to reach Earth then the fate of humankind was threatened. Armed with all efforts, David and his five colleagues tried to prevent Calvin from entering Earth even though life was at stake.
