Tells of a husband and wife, namely Evelyn Abbott ( Emily Blunt ) and Lee Abbott ( John Krasinski ), who have two children, a big brave boy named Marcus Abbott ( Noah Jupe ) and his teenage daughter named Regan Abbott ( Millicent Simmonds ). This family lives in a house far from the crowd.
Living in the house turned out to have rules; that is, they could not speak at all. They must maintain calm. Otherwise, there will be a mysterious creature that terrorizes them. Therefore, in communicating, they use sign language.
At the beginning of the film, everything seems stable. Those who have to be quiet to each other are like playing deadly games. Terror appeared when they were walking down the bridge, then Marcus made the mistake of turning on a toy airplane whose voice was boisterous.
