Synopsis
This Hustlers film was made and based on a true story inspired by viral news contained in the New York newspaper. Where Hustlers follows a group of former smart strip club employees, where they have the intention to unite to turn things around on their Wall Street clients.
The premise of Hustlers is based on a 2015 article written by Jessica Pressler for The Cut. The piece, titled “The Hustlers at Scores,” mainly follows the story of Roselyn Keo and Samantha Barbash in the late 2000s.
Keo dropped out of school at the age of 17 and soon became dissatisfied with the amount of money he made as a restaurant waiter. Later, she decides to become a stripper and meets Barbash, who takes him under his wing.
Barbash came to make more money. She will lure his richest past clients with an invitation to a naked club. When they get there, Barbash will soar their drinks with a little MDMA mixed with ketamine to improve their mood and mess up their memory.
The Drug Enforcement Agency began to sue women after one of them anonymously admitted what they did. Authorities chased Keo and Barbash in 2014 and began to sue them for counterfeiting, conspiracy, massive theft, and assault.
