Spider-Man: Far From Home tells the life of Peter Parker (Tom Holland) after Avengers: Endgame. He lives life in grief for losing his mentor, Tony Stark aka Iron Man.
Peter cannot become a superhero completely because he is still studying at the high school level. He realized that until finally, he did not want to become a Spider-Man while on vacation in Europe for two weeks with his school friends. Peter’s vacation did not go according to plan because he had the arrival of Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson). Nick introduces Peter to Quentin Beck aka Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) to work together to face Hydro-Man.
Interestingly, Mysterio did not come from the universe where Peter lived. He came from another universe, as a result of Iron Man’s efforts in Avengers: Endgame opened a new universe using infinity stones to connect with the universe occupied by Spider-Man.

Far From Home actually raises questions. One of them, when Peter vacation with school friends. It is known, Peter returned to life in Avengers: Endgame after Bruce Banner alias Hulk snapped his fingers that had been fitted with infinity stones. Hulk is said to snap fingers five years after Thanos eliminated part of the universe in Avengers: Infinity War (2018). The question that arises is how old Peter and his schoolmates are.
Director Jon Watts explained that Peter’s friends like Ned (Jacob Batalon), MJ (Zendaya) and Flash (Tony Revolori) also disappeared when Thanos snapped his fingers. That way, when they return to the world they are the same age. Meanwhile, Peter’s other schoolmates who survived Thanos’s fingers were five years older. Only, they have not been seen in the trailer.
Watts compares this with the film Flight of the Navigator (1986). The film tells the story of a boy who disappeared and returned eight years later. When he came home, he met his younger brother, who turned out to be a few years older than himself. The incident was similar to what happened in the films Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), including Spider-Man: Far From Home.
“It’s a very strange situation to make you believe, but it’s also something that can make you have fun,” Watts said as reported by Entertainment Weekly.
